That's obviously not enough.

First, I'd like an explanation why this (if it did take place) is such a shameful practice.
What is so fundamentally wrong with that? Which exactly "standards" are violated when someone is interviewed by a relative?

After receiving it in full - if I were an editor on your channel - I would play a video of papa-Brzezinski interviewed by his own daughter (who is a host of some show on one of the US channels), which can be easily found one the Net.
And I would demand that the BBC person say, loud and clear, that "this was one of the most shameful days in the history of US television, father being interviewed by his own daughter"

And only after recording all the evasions and protestations, I would go to the final part, announcing that Churkin's daughter never in fact interviewed him on RT.

SO CALL THE BBC AND DO IT, drag them through it, the full monty, and never try to pass their almost casual remark you referred to from this post of yours as one of the major victories.
Pay them in kind, do your job properly.
